Receipt is acknowledged of your letter informing me about artist David Horvitz and his plan to visit our wonderful province this summer to take photographs. He appears to be a well rounded individual who has acquired international experience while traveling abroad which will be an asset as he travels the world to photograph the skies in different areas.

I regret that my Member of Parliament's operating budget does not permit financial contributions or sponsorship of any sort to organizations or individuals. A directive from the Board of Internal Economy outlines the policy for Member's Operating Budgets which has to be followed by all Members of Parliament.

I commend you for your part in assisting Mr. Horvitz with his plan to visit Newfoundland and Labrador as a tourism destintation. As a suggestion, I refer you to the provincial Department of Tourism, Culture and Recreation. They might be able to assist you or give suggestions as to any provincial grants that would be available for an initiative of this nature.

My sincere best wishes with this very worthwhile project.
